Randy & Sandy Huebert

Project Name: El Refugio (The Refuge)
Project # 164

Randy and Sandra Huebert are from Alberta and have lived in Ensenada, Baja California doing full time mission work since 2008. The Huebert’s have four children, Amy (& Jesse), Justin (& Patricia), Laurisa, and Berenice (& Esteban) as well as 3 grandchildren. Laurisa and Berenice both live in Mexico and are actively involved in the ministry.
After working in different communities and impoverished areas around Ensenada, God placed a burden on Randy & Sandra’s hearts to begin a safe home (El Refugio - The Refuge) for at risk girls that have been rescued from situations of neglect, abuse, trafficking, and/or drug abuse. The girls are shown God’s love not only through the provision of their physical needs, but also through the examples of their spiritual family in the home and at church. Through God’s provision, the girls with El Refugio Fundación receive an education including post secondary, medical care, counseling and spiritual care through Bible studies and prayer. The girls currently enjoy their involvement in surfing, horse riding and kickboxing as extra curricular activities. As Randy and Sandy’s 5-year-old granddaughter said on a recent visit to El Refugio, “It is like one big family here.”
The Huebert’s host teams from Canada and the USA on the El Refugio base who join in ministry in various areas such as building homes for families in need, building churches, preaching, seniors ministry, dental/medical outreaches, visits to rehabs and shelters, VBS, etc., which the girls love to be part of as well.
