Being acquainted with the work of MGF since the late 40's, I was asked to join in 1998 after helping with some remodeling work at Christoffersen Haus. At the time I had been retired from teaching for 16 1/2 years and was the custodian at First Baptist Church in Turlock. I turned in my letter of resignation to be effective December 31 but got a call on the 4th to come to Rosarito, Mexico, to help the Thiessens finish a home for the pastor of the church where they were working.
That was the beginning of Project Help. From there I have done work in Instituto Biblico Logos in Tamaulipas, Mexico; Diomond Bar X in Montana, the Peck ranch outside of Dillon, Montana; places in Oregon, New Mexico, and many places in California. When my sister was "hurricaned" out in Florida, I built two rooms in the basement of her son's home in Ohio. Project Help is open mainly to other missionaries but not exclusively. I am willing to travel wherever I can carry out my motto: Have Tools, Will Travel!" |
