Duane and Betty joined MGF in August 1959. Duane and Betty's recruiting ministry focuses on finding people to serve as missionaries. This includes displaying and presenting missions in churches, college and university mission conferences, camps, and special gatherings such as YUGO Ministries with Americans in Mexico. Much recruitment is also done through one on one contact.

Their ministry as mobilizers is to help churches develop a greater missions concern. The goal is for missions to impact every department of the church. In addition to recruitment, God has placed them in frequent and sometimes unexpected counseling opportunities with a wide variety of situations.

Duane serves as an advisory board member of the Southwest College of Biblical Studies in California, a prison ministry.
