Ron and Bonnie joined MGF in 2000. They are ministering to military families at Fort Lewis, Washington.
Bonnie is involved in Protestant Women Of the Chapel (PWOC), a weekly meeting on Wednesday mornings where over two hundred Military wives attend. One of the opportunities she enjoys most is teaching these young women God's Word. This is an outreach and support ministry as well, so there are numerous opportunities to minister to military wives and their families especially during times of
long deployments.
On Sunday the Johnsons attend Evergreen Chapel on Ft. Lewis and assist the lead chaplain as needed which involves counseling, preaching, evangelizing, family support, special events, and just talking and praying with soldiers as they attend chapel services. Troops from Fort Lewis are heavily involved in the action that is going on in Iraq and Afghanistan and many chaplains and other soldiers they have known have gone into harm's way and have returned safely for which we praise the Lord.
The Johnson's have been involved from time to time in an international student ministry with foreign students who attend local colleges. They had a ministry in this evangelistic effort with local churches in the area and want to resume that ministry again soon as the Lord leads. This is a wide open mission field right on our doorstep and there are many Asian students studying in Washington state. |

I was able to help with a women's conference that reached out to the Fort Lewis military base. Many women showed interest in spiritual things and about twelve women raised their hands to receive Jesus. What a blessing to be a part of the committee and share in the celebration with Anne Graham after the blessings we received from the Lord.

Continue to pray for the Bible study. Some of these may not even be saved yet they come to the weekly Bible study. One is in fact Buddhist, but not a fanatic -- he even says he has doubts about that! He drives over 30 miles to come. I have seen major changes in their thinking as we go through the gospel of Mark and let them read about Jesus. |
